The 18th BSPC decided to establish a Working Group on Integrated Maritime Policy focusing on infrastructure and logistics. The Working group is to develop common positions and political guidance on the subject area for the regional, national and European levels.
The inaugural meeting of the Working Group on Integrated Maritime Policy was held on 21-22 January 2010 in Rostock, Germany, and was kindly hosted by the Chairman of the Working Group – Mr Jochen Schulte. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the objectives of the Working Group, the scope of its mandate as well as the working methods, and time frames. Along with numerous valuable presentations, there was a visit to the Maritime Simulation Centre that gave a practical idea of maritime studies at the Wismar University of Technology, Business and Design.
