NORDIC-BALTIC CONFERENCE ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING

On 10 – 11 November 2016 in Tallinn, the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council of Ministers Office’ in Tallinn organised Nordic-Baltic Conference on Human Trafficking.

The aim of the conference was to assess the progress to fight the trafficking in human beings since 2014, exchange information and experience on national policies and legislation, as well as to discuss and offer comprehensive national and regional responses to fight the trafficking in human beings. Conference presented an opportunity for policy makers, researchers, governmental representatives, police, persecutors and other actors in the field to share their opinions on ways to strengthen the mechanisms to fight against trafficking in human beings, identify challenges and formulating tasks, thereby increasing efforts to fight against trafficking in human beings on a regional level.

Delegation of the Baltic Assembly was represented by Vice President, Dr Giedre Purvaneckiene and Member of the Legal Affairs and Security Committee, Zenta Tretjaka.
