Meeting of the BSPC Standing Committee meeting

On 6 November 2015 in Rīga (Latvia), meeting of the Standing Committee of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference took place. President of the Baltic Assembly Giedrė Purvaneckienė (Lithuania) and Vice President of the Baltic Assembly Jānis Vucāns (Latvia) participated in the meeting.

Correlation between the labour market and education system was one of the main thematic issues which was discussed in the meeting of the BSPC Standing Committee. Parliamentary Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science Edvards Smiltēns and President of the Council of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Aigars Rostovskis introduced to the main opportunities and challenges of the cooperation regarding education and research in the Baltic Sea region. Cooperation between BSPC and Belarus, migration policy and refugee crisis were among the issues which were debated by the members of the BSPC Standing Committee.
