Nordic Baltic Energy conference on the 2030 challenges and good governance

On 24-25 October 2019 in Tallinn, Nordic Council of Ministers organized Nordic Baltic (NB8) Energy conference on the 2030 challenges and good governance in designing plans, policies and solutions.

The conference is considered to be of high policy relevance for the energy sectors in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The event is relevant for both policy-makers, decision-makers, implementing agencies, energy industries, NGOs as well as scientific communities and possibly youth representatives. A wide audience is addressed with a wide scope of discussions to break down silos between electricity sector, gas sector, and renewable sector as well as the energy efficiency community.

At the conference, the Baltic Assembly was represented by Erki Savisaar, Vice Chair of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee of the Baltic Assembly and Chair of the Environmental Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu. At the conference, Erki Savisaar participated in the debates about the main political challenges for the region in energy sector. Politian highlighted the importance of cooperation in order to tackle energy challenges in the region, as well as pointed out that bigger network ensures more reliability.
