The 12th Annual Session of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly

On 26-27 November 2019 in Kiev (Ukraine), the 12th Annual Session of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly was held.

During the Session, parliamentarians and governmental representatives of Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova discussed trade and economic cooperation, creation of a cyber-security centre and implementation of projects in the field of energy and infrastructure.

The Session was attended by the President of the Baltic Assembly Prof Jānis Vucāns, who addressed the parliamentarians about the cooperation between both parliamentary organizations, future challenges and other issues. Prof Vucāns said that the Baltic Assembly as partner is willing to give GUAM countries the best access to the experience of the Baltic States. Also, he invited GUAM countries to strengthen political and economic dialogue as well as expand mutual cooperation in a more strategic and comprehensive way.  

During the session the Baltic Assembly and the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly signed a "Decision on Priorities of Cooperation for 2020 - 2023" (download). The Baltic and GUAM countries are eager to expand cooperation in security, energy, media, education as well as issues regarding EU.
