Experts noted that there is a need to focus more on recycling. Also, the possibility of creating joint deposit refund system was explored during the meeting. Regional waste treatment projects make the economy viable," said Chairman of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee Erki Savisaar.

Another part of the meeting was devoted to digital cooperation. Experts from three Baltic States noted that there is a need to understand what needs to be done in the field of cooperation as well as exchange information between the Baltic States. Experts also recognized that nationally states are pretty digitalized and now the next challenge is to interconnect within the region as well as with EU.

Speaking of digital cooperation, Chairman of the Economics, Energy and Innovation Committee Sven Sester pointed out the X-Road information exchange. "The potential of cross-border information exchange cannot be overestimated, and the three Baltic States have to make joint efforts to create a common digital infrastructure that would cover e-governance projects in different areas."
