Meeting of the Education, Science and Culture Committee

On 30 – 31 March 2017 in Tartu (Estonia), meeting of Education, Science and Culture Committee of the Baltic Assembly was held. Members of the Committee jointly with governmental experts of the Baltic States, members of the Nordic Council, representatives of the vocational education and training sector and researchers discussed cross-border cooperation if the Baltic States in vocational education and training. Members of the Committee focused also on the PISA 2016 results in the Baltic States. During the meeting, representatives of the Baltic Council of Ministers reported about implementation of the recommendations of the Baltic Assembly in regard to specialisation of expensive higher and vocational education study programmes, automatic recognition of diplomas and degrees in the Baltic States, use of scientific infrastructure of the Baltic States, use of libraries as business support mechanisms in municipalities of border regions, joint measures for strengthening humanities within framework of the 100th anniversary of the Baltic States.
