On 6 February 2026, the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly met in Vilnius, Lithuania, and adopted the statement "On Russia’s Ongoing War of Aggression against Ukraine and International Attempts to End It." The Members noted that they stand in support of Ukraine and its sovereignty and territorial integrity,
highlighted that Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine continues to present a serious challenge to European security;
underlined the importance of sustained European unity in supporting Ukraine and in efforts to bring the aggression to an end;
called for a coherent European approach that is essential to maintaining security and upholding Europe’s core principles;
emphasised that meaningful negotiations cannot take place while Russian missile and drone attacks against Ukraine continue; therefore, a comprehensive and verifiable ceasefire is a necessary precondition for any credible diplomatic process;
stressed that any peace process must be conducted in accordance with international law and with Ukraine’s full consent.
