On 3 October 2025, the Joint Jury of the Baltic Assembly Prizes for Literature, the Arts and Science will gather to evaluate the nominees for the Baltic Assembly Prizes 2025. The meeting will involve in-depth discussions and a final vote to select the winners. This annual event celebrates the shared cultural, artistic and scientific achievements of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, reflecting the deep cooperation among the Baltic States.
Through the recognition of outstanding contributions, the Prize helps to maintain an ongoing dialogue about the cultural and intellectual developments in the Baltic States. By promoting these achievements, the Baltic Assembly hopes to inspire future Baltic generations to continue advancing their skills in these fields.
The Prizes are presented annually during the Session of the Baltic Assembly. This year, the award ceremony will take place during the 44th Session, to be held on 13-14 November 2025, in Riga, Latvia.
Composition of the Joint Jury
The Joint Jury, consisting of experts from the Baltic States, will evaluate the candidates and ensure a balanced selection process. The jury members for this year are: Ieva Kolmane, Dace Bluķe, Maija Kūle, Svetlana Grigorjeva, Tüüne-Kristin Vaikla, Kadri Simm, Donata Mitaitė, Ramutė Rachlevičiūtėa and Valdemaras Razumas.

Literature
- Kārlis Vērdiņš, poet, and Valts Ernštreits, translator, nominated for their collection of poems “Lībiešu balādes/Līvõd balādõd.”
- Lilli Luuk, with her real name Kristina Tamm, writer and art historian, nominated for her novel “Ööema” or “Night Mother”.
- Tomas Andrius Venclova, poet, essayist, literary critic and translator, nominated for his latest book of poetry “Už Onos ir Bernardinų.”
The Arts
- Kaspars Putniņš, conductor, nominated for his performance with the Latvian Radio Choir in the concert program “The Dream Stream”, held within the framework of the Baltic Music Days.
- Diana Tamane, photography artist, nominated for her active and versatile creative work and for her acclaimed large-scale exhibition “Half-Love.”
- Edgaras Montvidas, leading tenor in Europe, admired for the elegance of his voice, interpretive depth and commitment to the highest artistic standards, also for his contribution to cultural life in the Baltic region and for many active years being a bridge between local heritage and the global stage.
Science
- Prof. Ramunė Marcinkevičiūtė, Mg. Maris Peters and Dr. Art Emeritus Guna Zeltiņa, nominated for their collective monograph “Shakespeare’s Reception and Interpretation in the Baltics.”
- Dr. Eva Piirimäe, Professor of Political Theory at the University of Tartu, nominated for her monograph “Herder and Enlightenment Politics.”
- Prof. habil. Dr. Zenonas Norkus, top researcher in the field of comparative historical sociology, nominated for his two research monographs: “The Great Restoration: Post-Communist Transformations from the Viewpoint of Comparative Historical Sociology of Restorations” and “Post-Communist Transformations in Baltic Countries: A Restorations Approach in Comparative Historical Sociology.”
